Robert B. Jaffe, M.D., recently passed away following a distinguished international career in the field of reproductive medicine. As an international icon in reproductive endocrinology and infertility, Dr. Jaffe advanced our scientific understanding of reproductive disorders, cared for patients with complex female reproductive endocrine diseases, and mentored countless medical students and postdoctoral fellows. His remarkable career of outstanding achievements includes groundbreaking research contributions in fetal/placental endocrinology and oncology, a landmark textbook of reproductive endocrinology, and an innovative Reproductive Scientist Development Program (RSDP) to train obstetrician−gynecologists in basic molecular and cell biologic techniques at leading U.S. laboratories.
