Abstract:

The value of science is to help us mitigate risk. We develop theories and then collect data to test them and identify information that can be applied clinically to obtain better outcomes. One of the greatest challenges is valuing our expectations over our findings. We are currently experiencing an excellent example that can be applied to all areas of science and medicine. For patients suffering from worsening coronavirus disease 2019 symptoms, we hope for a miracle medicine that would save our loved ones from suffering and death.
