Despite the birth of over five million babies through ART, restricted accessibility to these procedures due to affordability continues to affect many couples. The disparity in accessibility is more marked in economically backward countries. Governments, institutions, official bodies, insurance companies, individual medical professionals, clinics and patients themselves can contribute toward making IVF affordable. Affordable IVF should translate into both cost effectiveness and cost efficiency resulting in the best possible outcome for the couple.
