Abstract:
We would like to thank Heddar et al. for their comprehensive evaluation of our study (1). First, there seems to be a misunderstanding concerning our inclusion criteria. We stated in our Materials and Methods section that F1, F2, F6, F10, F12, F14, and F17 are not sporadic forms of primary ovarian insufficiency (POI) but rather familial forms with at least one first degree case of POI in each family. It is possible that the confusion stems from the fact that only the propositus was available for the genetic study—but all the cases were indeed familial.
