Ultrashort flare gonadotropin releasing hormone GnRH agonist GnRH antagonist protocol A valuable tool in the armamentarium of ovulation induction for in vitro fertilization

Controlled ovarian hyperstimulation (COH) is considered a key factor in the success of IVF-ET because it enables the recruitment of multiple healthy fertilizable oocytes and, thereby, multiple as opposed to single ET. COH usually includes the coadministration of gonadotropins and GnRH analogues; the two most commonly used protocols are the long GnRH agonist suppressive protocol and the multiple-dose GnRH antagonist COH protocol.
